Workspace Overview

The workspace is the main data access and application hub in Canner Enterprise, like a virtual data mart. Enterprises can create workspaces by department, analysis topic, or project, and manage source permissions, usage limits, and data processing and analysis independently in each workspace, making it easy for teams to access data and collaborate.

A data space for independent analysis and flexible access

Each workspace has its own independent analysis environment. You can access, integrate, and compute data in a workspace through the Canner Enterprise UI. Work in one workspace does not affect others, but users can selectively share virtual data with other workspaces for more flexible data access. You can also track system usage by workspace or by user.

Data access control

You can add other users to a workspace as needed and grant them appropriate permissions to view, compute, export, and share data. This lets you delegate data access responsibilities effectively without affecting the source data. See Workspace Access Control for details on the workspace authorization mechanism.

Workspace page

The workspace page shows the following:

  1. Info bar: Below the title, it shows (1) the number of datasets in the workspace (x Dataset(s)), (2) the number of data services (x Data Service(s)), and (3) the owner who created the workspace.
  1. Create Dataset: Click to choose one of two options:

  2. Settings menu: Click the vertical three-dot icon in the upper-right corner to expand the settings menu.

  3. Open in: Opens this workspace in another module in a new window.
