2.3.3 Data Sources
Canner Enterprise integrates many heterogeneous data sources without moving the raw data, and uses an MPP (massively parallel processing) architecture to speed up computation. This helps enterprises build a fast, consistent, integrated data access center.
Connect data sources
Using virtual connectors in the data source service, you can connect with one click to many kinds of data sources, including data warehouses, data lakes, databases, FTP, and other third-party services. Once connected, the system syncs your data source's Metadata and Schema and keeps them updated periodically.
Data catalog and search
In the data source service, you can build a data catalog, including editing and managing descriptions and tags for each source, table, and column. You can also choose whether a data source's schema and catalog information is publicly searchable, so data users can easily explore, search, and understand what each data source is for.
Data policies
You can apply data policies in the data source service. Data policies are configured by the system Admin and can then be applied in the data source section. See Data Policy for details on applying data policies.
Data source access control
In the data source service, you can set data ownership for different users, including permissions for connection settings, data catalog editing, and data source sharing and access, so your data is managed, edited, and reused securely under proper authorization. See Data Source Access Control for details on the data source authorization mechanism.
