1.4.3 Data Owner

The Data Owner manages data sources. However, this role cannot view or preview the actual content of data sources.

Management features:

  1. Add and configure data source connection information (Note: this requires permission from the Admin)
  2. Apply data policies to data source columns
  3. Add other users to a data source's authorization list (Note: two roles can be assigned: another Data Owner, or a user defined as a Data Steward)
  4. Define data source metadata

This role is usually held by DBAs or the IT department in an enterprise.
